Balfour Beatty (Capenhurst Project) Blacklisting Collection 2017
This is a call to any M&E worker on the project in 2017 who took part in the shop levy collection to support my blacklisting campaign.
At the time, an operative on the project called Martin Overy was sending me private messages via Facebook, accusing me of being a blacklister. Mr Overy's messages are self-explanatory, but state that he was responsible for the collection on the night shift.
The messages accused me of being a blacklister and appeared to allude that I was somewhat responsible for the suicide of blacklisted workers, further stating that I had "blood on my hands" in 2022. I have published screenshots of some of those messages below.
These false allegations about being a blacklister were similar to others received from the likes of Tony Seaman and Frank Morris.
Despite Mr Overy's view of me, the overall collection on the project was successful. I understand this was largely due to the support of senior union officials on the project who saw through the lies being spread about me at the time.
One of the officials has provided his insight into the background of Mr Overy's acrimony toward me, and I'm reaching out to establish if there is any truth in this or if anyone else has any insight into a campaign to discourage workers from contributing. The following is an extract from that explanation.
- "One problem is that a supervisor who arrived on the project after the National Officer - [Official's Name] made repeated calls to Balfour Beatty to push for his recruitment has apparently been approaching people, trying to disuade them from contributing."
I have not named the union official or supervisor referred to, but would like to hear from anyone who was on the project who could throw more light on this via alanwainwright1963@gmail.com
